One of our favourites Adobe’s official pressrelease anounces the alliance with Verizon Wireless will start a mobile ecosystem built around Flash® technology that will allow developers to create new interactive mobile content experiences for Verizon Wireless customers.
John Stratton, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless adds:
“At Verizon Wireless we recognize that an exciting and simple to use mobile experience will accelerate customer adoption of new data services now offered across our network. Our relationship with Adobe will help us deliver a rich, seamless and branded experience across mobile devices and at verizonwireless.com.”

Verizon will distribute Flash Lite 1.1 the out-of-date version which are not having interactive opportunities. So, we can’t expect any development of applications on this platform

I just wanted to set the record straight on Verizon’s Flash Lite ecosystem. The version of the Flash Lite player that will be included on compatible devices will be Flash Lite 2.1, developed specifically for Qualcomm’s BREW platform. Flash Lite 2.1 is a subset of the Flash 7 player, so Actionscript 2.0 and dot notation are both on board. Currently, there have only been two handsets announced that will be compatible with the player. There will be a beta starting the beginning of July, and many of us will be able to begin developing Flash Lite 2 content for the Verizon ecosystem at that point. I’m very excited about what this means for mobile developers in the United States!
